Here’s a tip everyone loves: Schedule appointments when your loved one is most alert.
For instance, our mom has never been a morning person. When my brother and I were old enough to get ready for school, she supervised us from bed. Now, I take on the responsibility of scheduling her appointments—whether it’s a doctor’s visit or a haircut—in the late morning or early afternoon. This timing works best for her and makes things easier for me. Plus, the doctor or hairdresser gets to see her at her best.
Of course, there are exceptions to every rule. Fasting bloodwork, for example, is scheduled at 8:00 am. But don’t worry, these appointments are quick and allow our mom to have breakfast at her usual time, ensuring her comfort and routine.
So, consider when your loved one is at their best and schedule appointments accordingly. It’ll make life smoother for both of you!
